This painting is a double play on words.  It was painted after the birth of my second son.  Therefore "Caressing The Son" is the warmth felt for this precious new baby.  This painting symbolizes the blessings of life and is celebrated with this mermaid bowing her head in thankfulness to the sun and it's life giving warmth to all spirits.
