| Judith
Richardson graduated from the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston,
MA. As a graduate she assisted her teacher, Ture Bentz, at the
Museum School and competed for a traveling scholarship in the department
of graphic arts. This included serigraph, woodcuts, etching and
lithography.
She was awarded a traveling scholarship to Europe and remained there for five years. She studied etching with William Hayter at Studio 17 in Paris. While in Holland, she had a series of exhibits with a group of Dutch artists at Leyden University, The Ana Frank House, and the Blau Hand in Harlingen. On her return from Europe, she had a show at the Boston Museum where two of her woodcuts are in a permanent collection. After a year she applied for another traveling scholarship as an alumni of the school. With this award she traveled across the United States and spent a year in Mexico. She exhibited as a member of the Eleanor Riegelhaupt Gallery on Newbury Street in Boston and many shows in the Boston area. She was a member of the Boston Printmakers, the Ogunquit art association, and the league of Arts and Crafts in New Hampshire. Judith appeared on Channel 9 in Boston demonstrating drawing and silk screening, and was on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology radio station "Gallery Go Round." Judith also works in the media of cloisonne enameling and has cloisonne on exhibit at the Los Robles Gallery in Palo Alto an in Los Angeles at the Egg and Eye and San Francisco at the Meyer Briar Wiese Gallery. She teaches workshops in cloisonne in Santa Cruz and Palo Alto. She has worked in this media for 25 years. |
