| Introduction
It is often said that the
best measure of quality in art is the strength of the viewer's
reaction. To create an impact, the image must clearly communicate
the artist's depth of feeling. The landscapes John Gavrilis captures on
film present a clear vision of how he feels about the place from which
they are drawn. His love of nature's beauty is reflected in his
photographs, but the genesis of his work is sometimes hidden.
Gavrilis relies on his internal compass for locating meaningful images,
both for inspiration and for satisfaction.
