| Eve was born in New York City,
raised in Northern California, and as an adult has lived in New York City, Rome, Italy; Southern California and San Jose, California. She has also traveled extensively around the world. Since 1994, Eve has resided in Aptos, California. She is largely self taught, but Eve takes art and design classes where ever she happens to be living at the time: Los Angeles City College, San Jose City College, San Jose State University, Evergreen Valley College, University of California, Santa Cruz and Cabrillo College in Aptos. Eve pursued art primarily as a hobby until mid-1992, when she left a successful marketing career to dedicate herself full-time to creating her art work. She started out as a jeweler, and graduated to sculpting in wax or oil based clay, which was then cast in bronze. In 1994, she purchased a kiln so that she could fire her clay sculptures herself in her studio. In 1997, she began painting in acrylics, pastels and oils. Children are her favorite subjects. Always looking for new challenges, Eve has begun to paint murals. This came about after the bathrooms in her home were remodeled and she was presented with so much blank white space that was begging to be painted, so she turned the larger bathroom into a Roman ruin, open to the sky above and with a window, overlooking a view of the Tuscan countryside. |
