Bob Newick

Studied:
University of Oregon, Portland Academy of Advertising Art, Chicago Academy of Fine Art.

My workshop teachers have been:
Sergie Bongart, Mike Linstrom, Frank Webb, Charles Movali, Robert E. Wood, Tony Van Hasselt, Jane Burnham, Betty Lou Schlemm, George Post, Rex Brandt, Judy Wagner, Dan Burt,
Dale Laitinen.

I am retired from the Design Center of an international corporation.  I have worked in or as an Advertising Manager, Photographer, Graphic Design, volunteer art teacher in schools doing art demonstrations and talks to art groups, giving art workshops, and as a political cartoonist.

A large percentage of my work is purchased by artists and people in art related businesses.  I do not paint to sell.  No watercolors are reproductions.  All watercolors are done on location or from my drawings.  There is no camera involved.  I attempt to express a feeling with the shapes that are non-traditional....to remove my art from the shapes that people associate with specific subjects....yet make the shapes the most important aspect.
